College is a big transition time that can bring up big feelings. I'd love to support you as you navigate new independence, relationships, academic stress, family dynamics, self-esteem, etc. My practice is warm, mindful & explorative. As a licensed social worker/psychotherapist my aim is to create a safe space for you to talk and organize your thoughts. My style is supportive and non-judgmental. I work with adolescents and adults of all ages. As every case is unique, I practice one-on-one psychotherapy informed by an array of modalities. I am highly attuned to the needs of the individual person and encourage gentle exploration of one's current behaviors and how they may be influenced by one's past. In addition to psychotherapy, I practice psychoanalysis, which can afford a deeper exploration.
I founded Saltaire Psychology PLLC because I believe everyone can use a little help dealing with the chaotic moments in life, including breakups, medical issues, or deaths of loved oneer. I’m here to help you get through those difficult moments and grow from them. The key to building a strong therapeutic relationship is being genuine, providing unconditional support, and showing empathy, and that’s what I try to caaaprovide in my practice. My integrative approach utilizes humanistic, existential, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. I completed my Ph.D. at Fordham University and my internship/post-doctoral training at the Brooklyn VA. I have worked with diverse patients with a wide range of concerns including life transitions, relationship distress, cancer, chronic illness, insomnia, caregiver distress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I don’t believe that everyone needs to stay in therapy for years and years. Sometimes all you need is a few sessions with a professional. Whether the problems are short-term or long-term, big or small, we can work through them together.

Welcome! I am a clinical psychologist and drama therapist, seeing individuals and couples in New York. I work with adults and teens ages 15+. Clients I work with are often seeking to reduce distress, trust themselves more, and feel more equipped in their life journeys. A primary aim of treatment is to increase self-awareness and connection to the body, freeing a more expansive self, and allowing old patterns and obstacles (i.e. emotional avoidance, self-criticism) to melt away. Therapy can help reveal how your past is impacting your present, which often leads to self-compassion, and healing and change in the present. Perhaps you are wanting to feel more comfortable with the unknown, whether that be challenging emotions, uncertainty about the future, or existential questions, like what is the meaning of my one precious life? We are living through uncertain times collectively and individually, and therapy with me is a space where these questions are welcomed. I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of healing, and I show up in the room with warmth and authenticity. My approach is integrative. I have advanced training in an attachment-based psychodynamic approach called Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy, and in experiential, creative, somatic-based approaches including drama therapy and internal family systems. I also practice mindfulness and am an artist myself, and this informs the work I do. My approach is person-centered, which means I adapt treatment based on the unique individual(s) I am sitting with. I have extensive experience in working with LGBTQ+ clients, those with a history of trauma, folks navigating illness, and other healers and artists. I am part of Mount Sinai Health Partners, and remain involved in training of doctoral trainees at Mount Sinai. I am presently on the faculty of the NYU Masters in Drama Therapy program, and was previously an Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry Department at Mount Sinai. I have worked and trained in hospitals, including in adult and adolescent transgender healthcare, in outpatient centers, Veterans hospitals, and counseling centers.

You might be someone who’s always striving—high-achieving on the outside, yet still feeling like it’s never enough. Or you may be carrying past experiences that continue to hurt, or navigating the tension between cultures, family expectations, and societal pressures. Whatever brings you here, we can explore your story together and move toward your unique path of healing. I work with women and Asian immigrants who have experienced trauma, as well as clients navigating generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorder. I also help people manage challenges like depression and navigating life transitions. In our sessions, you’ll have space to look at what healing means to you, why certain pains linger, how they show up, and how we might begin to rise above them or make peace with them. If this resonates, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Send an inquiry today and start your therapy journey. Sessions are available via telehealth or in-person. Evening sessions are also available. Please inquire for further information on available appointment times.
TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. I'm a Japanese-American therapist based in NYC, and my focus is to support Asian American students. Many students I've worked with have faced challenges like perfectionism, low self-esteem, and the adjustments that come with navigating a new culture or environment. If you're feeling isolated and find it overwhelming to handle the pain you're grappling with on your own, know that you don't have to. I believe that we never lose our creative spark, and that with the right tools, it can be accessed and implemented as a healing force. With creative expression, we can imagine real life scenarios through multiple lenses, and look into the past and the future through different perspectives. No matter your age, art making can be used to make sense of our emotional landscape, foster self-compassion and organize our thoughts, which can get jumbled in the hustle and bustle of life. I utilize an integrative approach that marries both Art Therapy and traditional psychotherapy. No experience using art materials is needed! I received my Masters degree from Pratt Institute, and have experience working with children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in a private practice and hospital setting, including Yale New Haven Pediatric Hospital. I provide a person-centered approach based on my client’s personal needs, past experiences, beliefs, and goals. Through creative expression and psychoanalytic psychotherapy my clients have experienced increased hope for the future, a more positive mindset, decreased anxiety and stress, identity affirmation, behavior regulation and improved self-esteem. I look forward to embarking on the journey of self-exploration with you!
Are you feeling overwhelmed by emotions that are difficult to understand or express? Do you sometimes find yourself reacting in ways that feel unfamiliar, confusing, or even unsettling? You're not alone—and therapy can help. I offer a safe, supportive space for healing through a blend of Psychodynamic talk therapy and Art therapy, with my approach informed by DBT, CBT, and IFS. I believe in working collaboratively, honoring the pace of deep healing, and empowering your choices throughout the therapeutic process. My goal is to help you move from a place of survival toward resilience, self-understanding, and a sense of possibility.
I believe that therapy, with a therapist who can help you feel safe, secure and seen, can restore our inherent joy, curiosity, creativity, and connectedness, which are often impaired or lost altogether as a result of trauma or past attachment wounds. I am a relational therapist and specialize in exploring patterns that come from our families of origin, relationships with ourselves, with our friends, romantic partners, and children, as well as relationships with food and substances. I tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs by incorporating modalities such as Internal Family Systems, psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic work, CBT, DBT, and mindfulness. Regardless of approach, what is transformative in therapy occurs in the relational dynamic.
