Hi! My name is Katie Kalina, a licensed independent clinician with over 6 years of experience. I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and healed, and that as your therapist, it's my job to meet you exactly where you're at. One of my specialties is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Eye movement (or other bilateral stimulation) is used to work on one memory at a time for the mind to heal. I have worked with individuals and groups of all ages, from children to teens and adults through anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, body image issues, relationship issues, and anger management. As your therapist, I will make it my mission to make you feel at home in our sessions. Once we meet, I will help you set goals and devise a plan that will make you transform in the ways that you wish to. Looking forward to completing this journey with you and bringing you ongoing success. Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I have experience helping teens and adults with anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, stress, safety concerns, negative thought patterns, and communication issues. I have worked with people in different settings such as inpatient hospitalization, day programs, addiction treatment, in home therapy, community services, and outpatient therapy. I understand that there is no one size fits all therapy. I tailor my approach based on what you need and primarily use the practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I strive to help people find the root of their struggles as someone who is person centered, collaborative, humorous, and empathetic. I believe that effective change is possible when you feel empowered and set up with the right tools for success. I appreciate you taking this step in your journey and would welcome the opportunity to be a part of it! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Hello! I’m a trauma-informed psychodynamic therapist with clinical experience covering a wide range of issues in adolescence and adulthood. I am well-versed in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma recovery/PTSD, grief, relationship and communication issues, intimate partner violence, out-of-control behaviors, problematic substance use, and school/work stress. I will support you in finding deeper feelings of fulfillment, ease, self-alignment, and possibility in your life. I work primarily with college students and people in the years after they leave or graduate college. Changes in social life, feeling a part of something bigger or not, family dynamics, and/or figuring out work can be tough on top of whatever you were already dealing with. The political moment brings feelings of despair, rage, and loneliness. People I work with are deeply affected. You don’t have to figure everything out alone. I work well with individuals of all backgrounds. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and with years of experience in non-monogamous relationship structures, I work with many queer and trans people and people in non-monogamous relationships. I deeply respect the unique lives of the individuals I work with, and I love to witness their progress toward their goals. My therapy approach is psychodynamic - grounded in the understanding that past experiences influence us consciously and unconsciously. I use a strengths-based, whole-person perspective, and I also offer skills and tools using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) depending on your goals for therapy. I work alongside you in a process of exploration and meaning making. You can expect me to be warm, humorous, genuine, and straight-forward. I would love to hear from you.

In addition, I assist individuals with life transitions from college, jobs, relationships and more. I create a safe, validating environment where clients feel deeply heard. Each session reflects my commitment to fostering understanding and empowerment in daily life. Feel free to read more about me on my Psychology Today profile!
I am most often described as "passionate". I put my whole being into every decision I make. I believe that steady hard work always has a positive payout in the end. Sometimes the big picture can be overwhelming and daunting, I break life down into manageable and realistic steps. Therapy is your time. Sessions with me are are directed by your needs and are action oriented.
The transition to college or graduate school can be a time of tremendous change. Adapting to new environments, relationships and levels of independence can feel overwhelming in even the best of circumstances. For those who are navigating mental health challenges, complicated family or friend dynamics, shifts in identity, grief, or loss, that transition can generate feelings of anxiety, panic or paralysis that may affect daily functioning. I was a client long before I became a therapist, so I know how daunting it can be to open yourself up to a stranger – to let them see those private parts of yourself that might have been a source of judgment, fear, pain or shame. It took me many years to ask for help, in part because I viewed it as a sign of weakness. Now, through the lens of both my professional and lived experiences, I see this first step you are taking for what it is – one of the ultimate signs of strength. I honor the courage it took to access that strength. I can’t guarantee that the work ahead will be easy – but you won’t have to do it alone. My goal as a therapist is to meet you where you are and walk with you as you move toward where you want to be. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is authentic, safe and non-judgmental. My approach to our work together is relationship-based and trauma-informed. I believe that therapy is most effective when the connection between client and therapist is grounded in trust and compassion. I invite you to reach out so that we can explore, together, whether I might be the right person to join you on your journey toward new insights, self-awareness and growth. Please note that discounts are available to full-time students on a case-by-case basis.
** I AM CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS** ** TELEHEALTH SESSIONS ONLY** I guide people to create positive change in their lives, and understand this is often a difficult and overwhelming process. My focus is to assist people with creative problem solving, to stay goal-oriented, and to ensure you feel validated and truly heard so you may reach your goals and move from "stuck" to empowered. I use multiple approaches, such as CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness. Achieving balance in one's life is a skill, and by using different modalities (movement, art, visualization, and sound) I adapt interventions to meet your individual needs. I approach my work through a holistic, integrative, and progressive mindset, and treat the whole person- mind, body, and spirit. My areas of expertise include anxiety, perfectionism, OCD, depression, mood disorders (bipolar, depression), trauma, and college age/life transitions. Hi! I'm Kade- a queer, nonbinary therapist that got bored of doing traditional therapy. Now, I work with clients in the outdoors (think: walk and talk therapy, or hanging out by a creek, or making nature art) or offer to bring in art and nature into our office or virtual sessions. I primarily work with LGBTQIA+ clients as well as those figuring out life after leaving or reconsidering religion. Many of my other clients are navigating life changes that feel chaotic or are just trying to give therapy "another shot". My ultimate goal for my clients is for them to get the support they're needing. So, I'll invite you to check in about what's working or not, and will work to co-create an approach to therapy based on your own needs. Therapy should never be a "one size fits all" kind of thing.

College can be one of the most exciting and overwhelming seasons of your life. You may be adjusting to being away from home, navigating new relationships, questioning your major, managing academic pressure, or quietly carrying anxiety, depression, or past trauma that hasn’t had space to heal. On the outside, it can look like everyone else is handling it just fine — but inside, you might feel stuck, exhausted, unmotivated, or unsure of who you’re becoming. If you’re in that space, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to work through it by yourself. I work with college students who are in the middle of real life transitions — identity shifts, relationship changes, academic stress, family expectations, grief, trauma, and the quiet weight of self-doubt. Depression during college often doesn’t look like “sad all the time.” It can show up as procrastination, isolation, low motivation, difficulty focusing, or feeling disconnected from the person you used to be. Trauma can show up in relationships, in trust, in sleep, or in how hard you are on yourself. Together, we slow things down. We make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface. We identify patterns that are keeping you stuck and build practical tools that help you feel more steady, confident, and grounded. My approach is collaborative and straightforward. I don’t believe in sitting back silently while you struggle to find words. We talk. We process. We challenge unhelpful thoughts. We work through emotional blocks. I integrate approaches such as CBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based strategies to help you build resilience while honoring your story. My goal is not just symptom relief — it’s helping you understand yourself better so you can move forward with clarity and confidence. College is a time of growth — but growth can feel uncomfortable. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, numb, stuck, or unsure about your direction, therapy can be a space to reset and regain momentum. You deserve support as you figure out who you are and who you want to become. If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to Request an Initial Appointment and begin therapy. You don’t have to wait until things get worse. Let’s work together to help you regain balance, rebuild confidence, and move through this season with strength.
I am a clinical social worker and a psychoanalyst with 24 years of experience working in different clinical settings including college counseling center, hospital, community mental health clinic, and private practice. I enjoy working with people who want to learn more about themselves and wish to grow. Over the many years of doing my work, I have helped a wide range of individuals transform painful emotional patterns, grow in self-awareness, and create more meaningful lives. The length and the intensity of the therapy is determined by each patient. You might want to focus on a specific problem in your current life in short term psychodynamic psychotherapy, or you may choose to engage in more exploratory psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I also offer psychoanalysis. Although my orientation is psychoanalytic, I incorporate other treatment modalities and adapt my clinical style to individual needs. I am very familiar with the emotional stressors of academic life as a clinician and a former academic. Before training as a psychoanalyst, I taught Russian literature, Polish literature and Polish film at UMass/Amherst. In my clinical work, I enjoy working with undergraduate and graduate students and individuals from different cultural backgrounds. I accept all PPOs and will help you submit claims to your insurance for reimbursement.

The most important part of therapy is building a good rapport with the individual to create a safe and comfortable space. Therapy isn't always easy and neither is the decision to find a therapist; working to ensure clients are comfortable with me and helping them to identify their goals so that the treatment trajectory is predictable, but allows for space to talk about day to day events, if needed. Lastly, ensuring client and therapist personalities align is important as it only enhances the sense of safety and the capacity for positive rapport growth. There is no one intervention that is best for one person. Therefore, I operate with an eclectic combination and knowledge of multiple interventions and techniques as a way to provide the best and most effective strength based and unique treatment. Treatment interventions are individualized in order to align with the identified treatment plan and goals. Individuals have experienced a multitude of events throughout their lives that connect to and impact their capacity to function as they wish within the world today. One persons experiences are never compared or judged; everyone is always doing the best they can in those moments and I want to work with them to help increase what their best looks or feels like.
I am a solo practitioner who works with individuals to treat addiction and build recovery.
