Hi, I'm Lori with Starfish Counseling for Grief and Loss. When a loss occurs, whether it's a death, a relationship break-up, or some other type of loss, going through the grief process can be tricky while you're also handling other responsibilities, like school and friends. You may not be able to juggle it all, so you try to get help but you don't know who to go to. Maybe you've tried going to your school's counseling center, only to be told you have to wait several weeks or even months to be seen. What do you do in the meantime? As I see it, you have two choices - try to live with your grief without help and move forward or talk to someone to figure out what your life can be like after loss. In my experience, moving forward is much easier to achieve when you've talked to someone who has the tools and knowledge to help you process your grief. I am that someone. Because I've had a lot of loss and I've worked for nearly 20 years with people who've had loss, trauma and grief, I have the experience and the know-how to help. I take a client-centered approach, so I never use a one-size-fits-all strategy. Instead, I lean on cognitive, somatic and creative approaches to guide and offer support. I'd be honored to work with you.

Hi, I'm Lori Gephart, a Licensed Psychologist in Pennsylvania. For more than three decades, I’ve helped adults navigate the challenges that can make life feel overwhelming including anxiety, panic, chronic stress, depression, and insomnia. If you’re exhausted from trying to manage everything on your own, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to keep pushing through without support. My approach is steady, practical, and compassionate. I focus on understanding what you’re carrying, how it’s affecting your daily life, and what will genuinely help you feel better. Together, we’ll work to reduce symptoms, build resilience, and create meaningful, sustainable change, not quick fixes or one‑size‑fits‑all solutions. Whether you’re dealing with long‑standing patterns or a recent spike in stress, therapy can help you regain clarity, restore balance, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that feel grounded and capable. If you’re ready to take the next step toward feeling more in control and more at ease, I’m here to help.

Do you ever feel anxious and bothered by thoughts and emotions that make no sense? Do you have strong reactions and think "where did THAT come from?" You're not alone. Sometimes our brain holds on to experiences that were difficult or distressing from our past and during stressful moments, we get triggered by these seemingly unrelated thoughts and feelings. I help my clients understand how their early experiences shape their current lives. Together, we’ll explore unhelpful thoughts and emotions and develop new, effective ways of interacting with them that bring us Peace. I specialize in the treatment of adult survivors of childhood trauma. You will find it fascinating to realize how many of your automatic behaviors are survival strategies that you developed as a child. You will explore your “trains of thought” and learn how you can switch tracks and feel safer, happier, and more in control of your life. Virtual only. I know what it is to be overwhelmed by anxiety, to allow it to fill my brain with swirling, negative thoughts and judgments. I found my way to healing and I can help you to do the same. You deserve to have peace. You deserve to believe in yourself and like yourself. Call or email for a free consultation.

I love what I do, and I know why I do it. Since 2007 my focus has been coming along side of people and assisting them with challenges they face in life to become the most authentic and genuine person they were meant to be. In my own journey I've come to accept and appreciate the gifts I've been given, even if they're seemingly unrelated. I love my work as a therapist and I will always be passionate about performing music. How the two coexist within me is the journey I'm on. My focus has been in becoming a better therapist each day ... but I also know I'll never stop playing guitar and performing music, it's part of who I am. Book with me now by clicking on my Headway website. For insurances I work through Headway. My private practice is "out of pocket" at $50/session making therapy affordable to those without insurance or high copay. I provide a statement so you can be reimbursed. So finances are not an obstacle we can find an affordable rate for you. I am very passionate about understanding and helping people with the effects of trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, distressful emotions, and broken relationships. This has lead me into further study on how to offer a Trauma-Informed Therapy Approach. One therapy method is EMDR therapy, but other options can be utilized based on your needs. We can talk soon.

These are common concerns for folks with ADHD and/or challenges with executive functioning. EMAIL ONLY, PLEASE. When we meet, it is in the forefront of my mind that making initial contact and coming to an appointment with a therapist can be daunting. In our work together, you are the experts on your experience. I use genuine curiosity and empathy to gain a true understanding of what is going on. Together, we can discuss how my experience and training can assist you. Therapy is not "one size fits all," and I encourage clients to be open in sessions about what is working (and perhaps more importantly, what is not!). I have experience working with clients of all ages with anxiety (including specific phobias) and mood disorders, and with children with behavioral problems. I most often draw from cognitive-behavioral (including Trauma-Focused CBT) and humanistic approaches. I also offer comprehensive assessments for ADHD, learning disorders, and psychological concerns. I have worked in mental health centers, schools, residential programs, juvenile detention centers, and college counseling centers, and am currently in independent private practice. I am also able to provide in-home therapy as needed. I am also licensed under PSYPACT, and able to provide services virtually in states detailed here: https://psypact.site-ym.com/
