My name is Weston Clay and I am a psychotherapist based in NYC. I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and identity and relationship issues. As a gay man myself, I enjoy working with other queer/LGBTQ+ people to work through the way our identities impacts our relationships with our peers, family members, and ourselves. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe with and seen by your therapist and so it is my job to make you feel comfortable with me, not yours. Anti-racism, body positivity, and all around inclusivity are also fundamental to my style of therapy.

Some of the most meaningful moments in my work have come from patients who carried their struggles alone for far too long — people who finally decided, on their own terms, that something needed to change. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), I work with young adults to older adults from a wide range of socioeconomic statuses, upbringings, faiths, and political affiliations who may be navigating depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma. Of these, the ones who truly stand out are those who were honestly determined to seek treatment for their own betterment. What you bring to our work together matters deeply to me. If you're arriving with a genuine willingness to make real change in your life, we'll build on that foundation. Together, we'll develop a structured treatment plan with clear objectives oriented around your SMART goals, moving toward measurable growth rather than simply managing symptoms. My approach is rooted in respect, honest partnership, and the belief that treatment works best when it's something you've chosen for yourself. Whatever brings you here, my hope is to help you grow into a version of yourself you may not have realized you could be. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-based stress management techniques, I help you address the immediate obstacles you're facing, while using a psychodynamic approach to work through the deeper roots of core issues that may stem from key past experiences. I approach every session with respect, compassion, and open-mindedness, so you are empowered to achieve this healing in an environment where you feel safe, comfortable, and free to express yourself without fear of judgment. You can also expect to work with a therapist who understands what it means to be human, which is to be imperfect regardless of skillset or background. I recognize and accept that certain flaws are simply part of one's character, and whether those are things to actively work on will always be a decision we make together. By drawing on my own experiences, within appropriate limits, and even humor when appropriate, you feel recognized as a full person with emotions rather than a case to be managed. Mental health struggles are not strangers to me. I've navigated my own battles with depression, anxiety, and traumatic loss, and have been blessed with the genuine fortune of working through those experiences with skilled therapists and mentors who shaped both who I am and how I practice. These experiences are foundational to my work now. Growing up, I was taught that kindness and respect are the conditions under which real trust is built. That lesson has stayed with me. In my practice, I believe warmth and acceptance aren't just values to aspire to — they are clinical necessities. Treatment is most effective when the person receiving it feels genuinely welcomed, regardless of background, upbringing, faith, or life experience. All patients who come ready to do the work are welcome. To anyone considering treatment for the first time: give it an honest chance. The willingness to show up is often the hardest part, and it's worth it. Music has been a constant in my life. I play guitar and bass, write songs, and sing. Video games are another genuine passion; I've logged serious hours in Skyrim, compete enthusiastically in Mario Kart, and have recently been deep into Marvel Rivals (among others). When schedules align, spending time with family and friends is where I love to be.

As a licensed therapist, I am dedicated to empowering adults and families of all backgrounds and cultures in navigating life challenges. These include anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, grief and loss, emotional struggles, trauma and PTSD, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and I believe healing happens when we feel seen, supported, and safe to explore growth and emotions in our own time. To achieve this, I take a strength-based, compassionate, and practical approach, allowing me to equip you with effective tools and skills to realize lasting mental wellness. Working together, you can expect an encouraging and nonjudgemental environment that uses evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP). My goal is to help you develop healthy coping skills, deepen self-awareness, and create meaningful change through compassionate and collaborative care that is tailored to your unique goals and pace. I believe in the power of connection, collaboration, and evidence-based therapy, equipping me to be an effective and inspiring therapist. I look forward to walking alongside you as you build insight, resilience, and confidence in your journey to healing and achieving your goals. Having spent four years in the social work field, I saw first-hand how trauma impacts individuals and families, as well as how healing transforms lives. This diverse experience fueled my desire to become a therapist by deepening my passion to provide effective, empowering therapy that addresses the root causes of mental health struggles. I believe every person is capable of healing, which is why I bring empathy, curiosity, and genuine belief in each person’s potential to every session. When I'm not in the office, I’m most often spending time with friends or family. And when I’m not with loved ones, I enjoy being active – playing the piano, cooking, or discovering hidden gems in NYC!

I believe that all of us have had some challenges in our lives whether that translates to bigger traumas or smaller hardships. As a result of our challenges, we have beliefs about who we are and our place in the world. I use evidence-based practices including EMDR to identify and manage triggers that may manifest in fear, anxiety, and negative beliefs about who we are and what we deserve. Let me help you break free from your People-Pleasing, Perfectionist, and/or Procrastinating tendencies and find peace with being your authentic self.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with adults 18 and over, I help people navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the unconscious patterns that may be limiting their growth. At the heart of my work is a belief in the healing power of self-awareness and the therapeutic relationship. This belief helps me show up as a compassionate and collaborative partner throughout your therapeutic journey. I look forward to helping you build insight, emotional freedom, and more fulfilling relationships in our work together. I'm passionate about helping people develop greater self-awareness and create meaningful, lasting change by understanding the deeper roots of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors — and I bring that same spirit of inquiry to every session. My specialty is psychodynamic and relational therapy, practiced in a space that is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to you. With a psychodynamic lens, we explore how unconscious patterns from past relationships shape your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In relational therapy, the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a mirror, a way to uncover patterns of connection that may be affecting how you relate to others and to yourself. No matter the modality, I ensure a compassionate, collaborative, and curious approach that is personalized to your unique history, goals, and lived experiences. My path to becoming a therapist began with a lifelong curiosity about why people are the way they are and how their life experiences influence who they become. That curiosity grew into a passion for helping others make sense of their stories. Now, my commitment has grown into a dedication to thoughtful, relationship-centered care that honors each person's unique story. Into every session, I bring genuine curiosity and a commitment to exploring the deeper roots of emotional patterns. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy reading fiction, staying active through exercise, and spending quality time with friends – all hobbies that help me recharge, stay grounded, and appreciate the importance of balance, connection, and lifelong learning. They also teach me insightful values that influence the way I approach my work as a therapist.

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with young adults experiencing life changes with attending college or graduating college and need guidance of what will be their next steps in life after college. Although these can be milestones for young adults, it can also bring questions and several emotions that can affect their daily life. Some people may experience anxiety and depression while in college as they adjust to life on campus and being away from their friends and families.

Let’s be honest. Underneath that polished veneer, the cracks are starting to show. You’ve tried handling them yourself, because that’s who you are – independent, resourceful, and always able to take care of yourself. But the spackle is breaking. Who are you if not that characterization of success, living up to the expectations set by your parents, friends, and middle school basketball coach? Maybe those cracks are the result of you running full speed against a wall, again and again. If you’re ready to find another way around the wall, I'm your person. Let’s be honest. Healing looks different for everyone, and finding the right support is the first step. As a Licensed Master Social Worker, my work centers on helping individuals and families navigate stress, anxiety, depressive symptoms, and life transitions, including those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Whether you're facing emotional distress, struggling to manage overwhelming feelings, or simply searching for steadier ground, we'll work to build the adaptive coping strategies and emotional regulation skills that make a lasting difference in your well-being. My commitment is to meet you exactly where you are, as a supportive, collaborative partner throughout your care. Together, we'll strengthen your insight, develop meaningful coping tools, and navigate life's challenges in a way that feels sustainable and true to you. Person-centered, strengths-based, and empathetic care isn't just a framework for me; it's the foundation of how I show up for every person I work with. Creating a space where you feel genuinely heard and empowered to grow is something I'm deeply passionate about. Sessions are collaborative and nonjudgmental by design. Your unique needs, experiences, and goals shape the direction of our work together, and I tailor my approach accordingly, whether that means focusing on building coping skills, working through emotional regulation, or finding footing during a difficult life transition. The goal is always to support you in ways that feel relevant, respectful, and grounded in your strengths. My path to this work is one shaped by purpose and intention. Before becoming a therapist, I spent seven years working in the marketing industry in New York City. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, something shifted — a strong pull toward work that was more meaningful, more human, and more centered on helping others care for themselves. That calling led me to pursue my Master of Social Work from Fordham University, and into a field where I could show up for people in ways that truly matter. The transition deepened my commitment to compassionate, person-centered care, and I bring that commitment, along with authenticity and genuine investment in your growth, to every session we share. Outside of the therapy room, staying grounded and connected matters deeply to me. I find joy in watching and playing tennis, tending to my plants, and spending time with my cat, Biscuit, who brings a quiet sense of comfort to everyday life. Continuous learning and personal growth are values I carry both in and out of my work, always looking for ways to feel more connected to the world and the people in it. That same spirit of curiosity and intention is something I bring to the care I offer you.

We specialize in providing bilingual/bi-cultural psychotherapy to Asian international students, especially Chinese students. All our therapists are familiar with the nuances in Asian cultures and can provide bilingual therapy. Therapy can be a little nerve-wrecking for many college students who are first-time therapy seekers. In our work, you will be warmly supported to ease your way into emotional awareness, see your true self more clearly, feel safer, and move towards actual changes you want.

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in anxiety, life transitions, and relationship concerns for adolescents and adults. Over nearly four years of clinical work, I've had the privilege of sitting with teens and adults through some of life's more difficult stretches: the anxiety that won't quiet down, the relationship stress that follows you everywhere, the emotional weight that builds when you can't quite figure out why you keep ending up in the same place. If you're someone who thinks deeply about yourself and your life but still finds it hard to break certain patterns, you're not alone. Many of the people I work with are self-aware and motivated; they just need a space where insight can turn into real, lasting change. I offer the evidence-based treatment that helps you explore the deeper patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others. Above all, my goal is to help you feel more grounded, more connected, and more confident as you move through the world. I look forward to being a genuine partner in that process. Therapy works best when it feels honest, collaborative, and equal parts reflective and actionable. When we work together, you can expect a space that is both supportive and candid, somewhere we can get curious about what's bringing you in while also building practical tools to help you move forward. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), schema therapy, and relationally informed approaches, weaving them together in a way that fits who you are rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. My style is warm, direct, and a little reflective. I'll ask questions that help you see yourself more clearly, and also help you figure out what to actually do with what you discover. Whether you're looking to better understand your patterns, strengthen how you cope with stress, or simply feel more like yourself again, I'll tailor the work to where you are and where you want to go. My path to this work has been shaped in equal parts by where I come from personally and where I've been professionally. Early in my career, I worked at a pediatric neuropsychology clinic serving primarily Latinx families in Washington Heights, where I saw up close how systemic barriers can complicate access to care and add invisible weight to the challenges people are already carrying. That experience left a real mark on me, and strengthened my commitment to showing up in a way that is culturally sensitive, genuinely client-centered, and attuned to the broader context of your life. Growing up in the South Bronx gave me something no classroom could: a deep respect for the resilience of underserved communities and an honest understanding of the very real obstacles many individuals and families face. Both experiences continue to inform how I practice and how I show up for you in the therapy room. Outside of session, I'm usually deep in a telenovela, working through my Nintendo Switch 2 games, sweating through a [solidcore] class, or adding more books to an endless to-be-read reading list. I believe a full life outside the therapy room makes for a better therapist inside it.
