Landmark Counseling is a self-pay Telehealth counseling practice serving those anywhere within the state of Indiana. Colleges and university settings bring their own unique challenges to a student's mental health. For 11 years (prior to private practice), I worked in University Mental Health, and served as the Director of a University-based Counseling Center. My work allowed me to specifically focus on treating college and graduate students, as well as collaborating with faculty members and administrators across campus. Whether you are a student struggling with anxiety or a traumatic experience, overwhelmed by stress, struggling with workplace issues or burnout, or are seeking other support, Landmark Counseling is here to journey alongside you. Being a student at a university is a unique experience. Increasing responsibilities are piled on, hard adjustments from living with parents and moving into college life can occur, big questions about “what’s next” loom, and it can be difficult to navigate uncertainty and anxiety. By partnering with an experienced counselor who can share insights and guide your journey, you can move towards the life you envision. Counseling can be part of an important landmark in your life, marking a turning point in your growth and healing journey. Whether you are seeking to become a healthier version of yourself, navigate through a challenging situation, find balance between work and life, or process painful grief and trauma, we are happy to help!

I’ve spent the better part of the last two decades working as a clinician with a diverse array of clients facing a wide range of issues. Common themes throughout my carreer have been recovery from substance abuse, trauma, existential crises, and managing life when the multiple factors that are out of our control become overwhelming.

I have a particular passion for working with young adults in the midst of life transitions, those struggling with their relationship with food/their bodies, & those who have a desire to process through previous trauma. My training includes EMDR, which focuses on healing from the symptoms of emotional distress that are a result of difficult life experiences.

The therapists at IPCI have a passion for working with clients to help them both cope better in the present as well as to explore, and work through, the underlying factors that fuel and perpetuate recurring problems like anxiety, depression, and relationship troubles. Many of our therapists have additional training in trauma work, including EMDR. Dr. Hanzlik is one of the few AASECT-Certified Sex Therapists in Indiana, and has trained other IPCI therapists to provide effective treatment and a specialization in helping patients work through sexual concerns. We also provide psychological evaluation to clarify diagnoses and provide recommendations for accommodations in academic settings.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 12 years of experience. I provide an atmosphere of trust and comfort where clients feel at ease. My style of therapy is engaging, warm and goal-oriented. Others have described me as authentic, genuine, non-judgmental and empathic. I work with adolescents and adults who are struggling with a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, school/work related challenges, family conflict, relationship issues, life transition issues and parenting difficulties. I believe there is no “one size fits all” form of treatment. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them find the necessary tools to grow, develop, and achieve their goals. I am skilled in a variety of interventions including the evidenced based approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I draw from these approaches, depending on my client’s goals and what I deem will be most effective. I received my Masters in Clinical Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I practiced and trained in Chicago for 9 years before moving to Indiana. Prior to starting my private practice, I worked in various settings including psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization programming, intensive outpatient programming, within a group practice and a community mental health center.

My name is Elizabeth Askren, but most people that know me call me Beth. I'm a licensed mental health counselor, and I see clients in a private practice setting. My practice is Core Counseling & Wellness. I am trained and licensed as a mental health counselor, and I feel especially passionate about working with adults who struggle with anxiety, codependency, perfectionism, and those who have been called “overachievers”. I work with people to recover from emotional abuse, trauma, and neglect from both developmental or adult relationships, amd who struggle with self-worth and self-doubt, to those seeking to overcome developmental trauma, and who find themselves struggling with adult insecure attachment and toxic relationship patterns. Clients work with me to explore and heal the issues at the core of these struggles, and learn to regulate and process emotions and tolerate distress that can often make day to day life feel unbearable at times. Developing boundaries and finding validation and security from within are a part of this process. Along the way, I help clients identify and replace behaviors that are no longer serving them and are problematic in their current life. I assist clients in developIng new skills allowing them to shift towards living authentically, finding fulfillment, finding themselves, and ultimately finding joy. I see clients come out the other side with greater self-worth, grounded by confidence in themselves, discovering new opportunities while creating a fulfilling life in which they can thrive. Good therapy starts with genuine compassion and acceptance. These are core values of both my practice & my life. I love being a therapist. Genuinely, I really really love it. The work I do with clients is inspired by the deep work I've done myself. I show up to every session with an understanding of how it can feel to sit in my client's chair. If invited, I'd be honored to discuss working together. Contact me if you would like to setup time for a phone chat to explore this. I primarily work with clients in-person in my Broad Ripple office, but can take advantage of virtual appointments when clinically appropriate and necessary. Payment for services is due at the time of service. I am not “in-network” with any insurance plans, and am considered an “out-of-network” provider (or self-pay). While I am happy to offer some information and guidance to clients who have insurance plans that include out-of-network benefits, I do not bill insurance or submit claims, and can not guarantee reimbursement or coverage for services. Please contact your plan to identify if your plan includes out-of-network coverage, and if so what the reimbursement and limitations to coverage may be. I accept HSA & FSA payments, credit cards, checks, or cash.

Hello! My name is Rachael Trimbur and I am here with you on your treatment journey however that may look. I take a very trauma-informed and strengths-based approach. I am trained in EMDR and have been using this approach for two years. I am a licensed clinical addictions counselor and a licensed clinical social worker with more than 10 years of experience working in the dual diagnosis field. I began my career working with substance use disorders and have a lot of experience in this area. I am also a qualified Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and complete substance abuse evaluations. My experience includes working for community mental health centers, doing crisis work, working in an employee assisted treatment program, and program development for a substance use and medication-assisted treatment facility. I am always looking to expand my knowledge and stay up to date on evidenced-based treatment approaches. I understand that one size does not fit all and pull from various modalities to help those I work with meet their goals. The most important thing I have learned over the years is to learn from those I work with. I take a very person-centered approach. As Stephen Covey wrote, “Seek first to understand, then to be understood.”

Here’s a quick bit of information about my education, and areas of focus. I graduated from University of Louisville with Masters in Couple’s and Family Therapy, as well as Social Work. The majority of my training is in family systems therapy. In short, that means I believe all things function as a system and are interconnected. My approach to therapy is person centered, informal, and conversational. I believe it’s important to look at the whole picture, instead of solely placing the weight of the problem on one person. I also enjoy looking at Mind- Body- Spirit connection, which in my opinion tends to promote overall well-being. My focuses areas are: daily stressors, Depression, Anxiety, Life Adjustments, Relational concerns, etc. Some of the techniques I pull from frequently are: CBT,DBT, Distress Dis-tolerance( Mindfulness), IFS, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and motivational interviewing. Therapy is not a one size fit all. It’s important that the time you spend in session is designed for you. My work with you is tailored to you. My goal in session is to collaborate with you on your desired plan. I see myself as an assistant/ collaborator to helping you turn over the pieces in your life that need your attention. Therapy is the space and time where you are given the opportunity to be who you are. It is the space for you to be accepted and validate in a safe environment.
