Therapists for college students near Denver, CO
Life is going okay, but you know it could be better. You want better relationships or you’re having trouble navigating boundaries with that one family member. You’re feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, and you’re self-aware, but you don’t know what to do about it. There is this nagging belief that something is wrong with you or that you should be doing more. Maybe you’re in transition and or you just really want to make sure you’re mentally well. Individual therapy is great for addressing all of these challenges and joys in life. Part of what works about individual therapy is a solid relationship with a therapist who really gets you, helps you see different perspectives, and helps you make sense of what is going on in your life. You’re the expert on you and as a therapist, I walk with you to help you heal and move forward.
Originally from Chicago, I moved to Colorado to pursue my Master’s at the University of Denver, which confirmed my passion for social work. Before opening my private practice, I worked extensively with survivors of intimate partner abuse, individuals in recovery and couples in crisis. This experience provided me with deep expertise in attachment therapy and reinforced the vital importance of trauma-informed care. My background has shaped a clinical approach rooted in curiosity and a drive to understand the motivations behind actions. This perspective allows me to serve my clients through relational lens, focusing on meaningful connection and growth. If you choose to work with me, you will find a collaborative environment defined by non-judgment and openness. Regardless of your goals, your identities, or where you are in your journey, it would be my honor to support you and your loved ones. I look forward to being your advocate as we work together to reach your goals.
College can bring a lot: new freedom, pressure to succeed, and the stress of figuring out who you are and where you are headed. Many of the students I work with feel weighed down by anxiety, burnout, overthinking, imposter syndrome, or the pressure to be perfect. Others are coping with ADHD, past/current trauma, anxiety and social anxiety or just the everyday stress of classes, relationships, and big transitions. With 12 years of experience working in university counseling centers, I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges of college and graduate students' lives. In our work together, you will find a supportive space to talk honestly about what is on your mind, learn coping tools to manage stress, and feel more grounded and confident. My goal is to help you feel less alone and more able to handle the challenges of college life.
Finding ourselves stuck in problems that we can't seem to figure out isn't uncommon and asking for help isn't easy, but it is a brave first step. My hope is that once I have the opportunity to get to know you and your unique experiences, I can help you to develop the skills to manage life's challenges in a way that you can be proud of. I have worked with children, families and adults and tailor my practice to the individuals I serve. I strive to create a space that is safe, non-judgemental and considers the complexity of your life. My past work has been with individuals of all ages who have experienced complex trauma and the resulting depression, anxiety, anger, fear, shame and grief. I strive to create a safe and anti-oppressive practice that respects, validates and affirms individual racial, ethnic, religious, spiritual, gender and sexual identities. I believe that people are meant to live in relationship, but that often we get stuck in negative cycles of relating to ourselves, others and the world that keep us from growth and joy. In my own life, I have worked and continue to work to break down these things for myself, and I am honored to join others in their work to do the same. :)
As a Psychiatric PA-C and ADHD coach, trained by the renowned Dr. William Dodson, I am the perfect partner to help you harness your ADHD and quickly overcome any other obstacles you may face in college. ADHD and other psychiatric struggles lead to underperformance in many arenas of life, and my purpose is to help you become the very best version of yourself possible. From that place, you can think and perform at your very best, and CREATE the most rewarding future for yourself. Replace procrastination and emotional overwhelm with hope, confidence, and consistent focus and do it now!

Do you feel stuck? Do you feel like you know all the rules and what you are “supposed to do” but somehow can’t get where you want to go? As your therapist, it is my goal to help you feel at home in your mind, body, and heart. I can help deconstruct and shift your “shoulds” into something that feels more authentic and meaningful to you. We also can dig into your past and explore how old coping mechanisms that may have helped at one time are now limiting. I am trained in a myriad of techniques—including mindfulness and EMDR—to gently guide your mind and body back to the present moment to a state of well-being and resiliency. I believe in your innate goodness and will always remind and point this out to you. I cannot tell you what is right/wrong or healthy/unhealthy and I resist being another voice telling you what you are “supposed to do”. My job is to provide a warm and accepting space to not just think and talk but to feel the big emotions. I will ask questions, reflect, and ponder alongside you as we rediscover your inherent wisdom and regain a sense of freedom. My clients tend to be intelligent humans who feel caught in their anxious minds, trauma, or simply desire support in living a more authentic and meaningful life. I work with people suffering from anxiety, perfectionism, life changes and transitions, grief, disordered eating, trauma, panic attacks, binge eating disorder, low self esteem, poor body image, and depression among many more. My therapeutic approach is insight-oriented, relational, and collaborative. I work with adults, couples, and adolescents to make meaningful changes in their lives. Together, we will take the time to get to the heart of your story and uncover deep-rooted emotional patterns. I specialize in anxiety, depression, identity issues, relationship issues, and self-esteem. I use psychodynamic theory to explore how our early experiences impact our current functioning, and I see the therapeutic relationship as a corrective experience to heal our early attachment wounds. In our work together, I will gently challenge you to say the unsayable, learn to trust yourself, get out of your own way, and discover new ways to relate to yourself and others. I work best with students who look like they’re holding it together but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck on the inside. Many of the students I support are managing academic pressure, burnout, self-doubt, or the impact of past experiences while trying to keep up with school, work, and relationships. With nearly a decade of experience in mental health settings, I help students slow things down, make sense of what they’re feeling, and build tools that actually help in day-to-day life. Therapy with me is supportive, practical, and collaborative—a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out to get started.

When you’re the type of person who “shows up” for everyone else, it can be hard to admit you’re burned out. Helping is how you’ve learned to cope, connect and stay safe. I treat depression, anxiety, and burnout for people (15 years and older) who are too busy pleasing others to help themselves. My clients often find themselves having sudden health issues or lack of concentration and get into an identity crisis! "Who am I if I can't pull off miracles every day?!?" I offer a combination of psychotherapy and art therapy, which works well for people who don’t know where to start. I also integrate financial therapy into sessions because money issues are often unspoken roadblocks to personal growth. Art therapy is for all ages, and I primarily work with teens and adults. If a little part of you did a cartwheel when you read “art therapy”, it just might be a good fit for you. If another little part of you also got scared and nervous, that’s completely normal. You won't be judged about talent or skill, it's really about the process, not the product. Many clients have big new insights into their lives by working with images. When you've been running on empty, it's time to fill your tank. I'm a recovered pleaser too!
